AIS Iris Encyclopedia

The Encyclopedia Wiki turns two and if you have not seen or used it, you need to! It is now easier and faster to use. A couple of hints on useage, do not do a simple search, but instead do an advanced search, or an easier way is to go to the Iris class you want and Browse the letter group of the iris name.

Upcoming Judges Training News

All members of Region 14 are invited to attend the judges' training that will be held in conjunction with the Sydney B. Mitchell Iris Society's potluck lunch January 2012. Jean Richter, secretary and cultivar preservation chair of the Historic Iris Preservation Society (HIPS), will give a one-hour training on judging historic iris in shows. The event is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Lake Merritt boathouse (just down the street from the Lakeside Park Garden Center on Bellevue Avenue in Oakland). Doors will open at 11:00 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon. The judge's training will be held at 1:30 p.m. Please bring your own plates, silverware and cup. AIS National Convention, 2012, Cali-Zona Gold

The National Convention in 2012 is hosted by Region 15 and takes place from April 16 to April 21, 2012, in Ontario, California. For Registration, Directions, Hotel and Garden information see the Convention Website. You need to register by February 1, 2012 for the discount rate of $299.

Spring Regional

Spring Regional, Iris By the Sea, April 27 to April 29, 2012. Hosted by Monterey Bay Iris Society at the Best Western Seacliff Inn, Aptos, California. If you are going the the National Convention, consider spending the following weekend at the Regional and add this to your trip plans. Can not make the National? Then, see the Regional! To insure a spot in the Spring Regional, please register before April 1, 2012. See Spring Regional for more information.
